Comments:
Calamintha grandiflora 'Variegata' or Variegated Calamint or Variegated Catmint is an aromatic herbal plant with eye-catching foliage and beautiful flowers.  This heritage perennial plant is deer resistant and it spreads slowly by running rhizomes.  The spreading is more controllable than its cousin mints.  Variegated Calamint is a butterfly attractor and it is also a self-seeder.  Propagation is easy from seeds or rootball divisions.  The leaves have a pleasant camphor-lke scent and are used as a seasoning in cooking and also brewed as a tea.  Remove all green leaves to mantain nice variegation on leaves.  Grow Calamintha grandiflora 'Variegata' en masses for a superb effect in the front-of-the-border perennial beds or in a woodland setting.  This eye-catching herbal plant makes excellent mixed container plants.
