Comments:
Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard' or Adam's Needle or Devil's Shoestring or Needle Palm or Spoonleaf Yucca or Yucca concava or Yucca filamentosa subsp.concava or Yucca smalliana is a tall and handsome single-stemmed rosette succulent plant with a clump-forming growth habit.  This evergreen perennial has striking variegated foliage; in Winter, the yellow center changes to interesting colors of pink and coral.  Both the delightful variegated foliage and the long-lasting, showy fragrant flowers provide year-round interests.  Spoonleaf Yucca is easily propagated from rooted suckers or offsets taken in Winter. Yucca concava is a tantalizing, low-maintenance, carefree and very easy to grow cactus in the  xeriscaping landscape.  Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard' is shrub-like and grows at a slow rate.  Yucca smalliana is a specimen plant that highlights an arid area of  the garden;  plant it as a focal point in the rock garden. Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard' is a winner in Jenny's Garden.   Interestingly, Yucca flower is the state flower of  New Mexico.
