Comments: Disocactis ackermannii or Strap Cactus or Orchid Cactus
is a magnificent cactus with a very slow growth rate. It has
strikingly beautiful red blooms, followed later by spiny berry-like
fruits . Strap Cactus is easily propagated from woody stem
cuttings. It can tolerate some sun or filtered shade. Dispcactis ackermannii spreads by aerial roots. It
does not like tolerate frost. Orchid Cactus makes an excellent
hanging basket plant or grow it in a container to accent the porch or
deck. Disocactis ackermannii looks great indoors.
