Hippeastrum is a gorgeous perennial bulb with an upright growth habit.
It bears beautiful large white flowers with red edges. Hippeastrum
Picotee can
be
forced indoors 1st weeki of November for lovely blooms, for it to bloom
in time for the festive season. After blooming is over, deadhead
spent flowers. Allow wilted leaves to dry completely before
removing them. Fertilize after flowering is over. Keep
bulb in cool dark place to allow them to go dormant. Do not water them
for 2 months afterwhich watering can be resumed and the bulb be placed
in a lighted area for blooms. Amaryllis
Picotee is carefree
and
low-maintenance. If grown outdoors, mulch to protect plant from frost
and stake to protect from wind.
