Comments: 
Erysimum cheiri or Aegean Wallflower or Common Wallflower or English Wallflower or Cheiranthus cheiri is a biennial or perennial ornamental flowering herb with a compact growth habit.  In mid-Spring, the one or more a high-branching stems are topped with lovely fragrant, club-shaped blossoms of various rich colors of orange, red and yellow.  The bright long lasting flowers are every florist's delight.  Long fruits with hairy capsules are visible after the flowers fall off; the birds love to feast on the fruits.  Erysimum cheiri are easily propagated from seeds or cuttings.  It performs well in a sunny to part shade location.  Common Wallflower  enjoys cool, moist climate and thrives best at 68 degrees Fahrenheit.  Provide provide sufficient water in dry Summer.  Mulch well at least 3-4" thick after first frost.  Trim die-backs only in Spring as they offer protection for the plants.  In Winter, keep English Wallflower dry to prevent root freeze.  In colder areas, provide protection from cold; winterise to enjoy blossoms next season.  Mass plant Cheiranthus cheiri in the borders or beddings for a cheerful looking garden in Spring.   Erysimum cheiri make excellent companion plants for bulbs.  Common Wallflower can also be container cultivated for the porch or patio.  This southern European beauty is an ideal plant for the rock garden or an old-fashioned garden.  Aegean Wallflower is a show stopper.
