Comments: Phalaenopsis Orchid or Moth Orchid is a large and well-grown hardy
tropical plant. From Spring to Summer, lovely long stalks of
blossoms appear. Phalaenopsis Orchids comes in different colors of
cream, lavender and white. The graceful flowers are long lasting
and are many-a-florists' delight. After flowering season is over,
trim off just below the first flower to promote more blossoms.
Phalaenopsis Orchid is very easy to grow from divisions. It gets its nourishment
from the rain or wind. Moth Orchid grows well under a shade tree or an East or
West window. Roots might grow over sides of pot. Trim off
any shriveled or brown root. Repot Moth Orchid after flowering period.
Remove old media, use fir bark or others; do not use soil or
potting mix for terrestrial orchids. Water the base of the plants;
do not water from the top as water collected on the foliage can cause
root rot. Phalaenopsis Orchid thrives well at an ideal day temperatures
of 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit and night temperatures of 60-65 degrees F.
Moth Orchid makes excellent houseplants.
