Cluster of small, white at end of foot-long stalk, from July-August
Foliage:  Variegated, fuzzy, bright silver markings with broad stripe down center of leaves
Soil:  Acidic, well-drained, loamy - a compost of leaf mold, peat moss, sand and finely shredded bark.  Keep moist.

Propagation:  Seeds, rhizome divisions
Uses:  Container, edge of shady garden, woodland
Comments: 
Goodyera pubescens or Downy Rattlesnake Plantain Orchid or Addler's Violet or Cancerweed is an attractive  evergreen perennial grown in a woodland setting.  Mist plant several times a day in low humidity areas.  If ground planted, mulch heavily to protect from frost.
