Allamanda
schottii or
Brownbud or
Bush
Allamanda or
Buttercup Flower or Golden Trumpet or Yellow Bell or
Allamanda neriifolia is a
woody tropical perennial shrub with a vigorous growth habit. This
South American beauty bears
gorgeous vibrant yellow funnel-shaped flowers year round.
Allamanda
schottii can easily be propagated
from seeds or softwood cuttings. It performs best in morning sun
and afternoon shade. Eventhough
Brownbud
can tolerate drought, it does best if kept constantly moist.
It is an ideal plant
for a screen or hedge or mass plant as groundcovers under taller trees.
Bush Allamanda can also be container cultivated for the patio or as an
indoor plant.
Prune
Buttercup Flower lightly after blossoms are spent to promote a more
floriferous bloom. Every year prune hard to keep plant in shape.
Golden Trumpet does not tolerate salt or frost. Frost will kill
the plant to the ground however it will return next season with a
vigorous growth.
Yellow
Bell' is low maintenance and does not demand much attention.
In colder areas, bring plant indoors till weather warms up.
Allamanda neriifolia
brightens the landscape. It is a fabulous eye-stopper.
